Quartet from the Royal 22nd Regiment
With piano, drums, bass, and flute, the Royal 22nd Regiment Quartet presentsits interpretation of Claude Bolling’s Suite No. 1 for flute and jazz trio. Composed in 1975, this piece is an innovative fusion of classical music and jazz. It is distinguished by its dynamic arrangements and unique blend of styles, where the flute engages in a harmonious dialogue with the jazz trio (piano, bass, and drums). The work is celebrated for its vivacity, driving rhythms, and catchy melodies, offering a modern and refreshing musical experience.
Chapelle de la Citadelle de Québec
An integral part of the fortifications of Old Québec City, the Citadel of Québec is located on Cap Diamant, the highest natural point in the city. Originally, the Citadel Chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, was built in 1831 to serve as a powder magazine. The building was later converted into a chapel in 1927 at the request of Lieutenant-Colonel Georges P. Vanier, then commander of the Royal 22nd Regiment.
