25 years of the LIMQ

Four musicians improvise on themes related to Théâtre de l'Auberge Internationale de Québec

LIMQ celebrates its 25th anniversary in the 2024-2025 season. The musical improv matches were born out of a play reading benefit held at the Auberge Internationale de Québec. The concert will be hosted by Jean Bélanger, who read the play at the time and has been an official LIMQ referee for 25 years.

Four musicians bring their originality and musical imagination to the collective performance, with no competition. The themes concocted for the occasion are inspired by the history of the Théâtre de l’Auberge, and more specifically by the memorable shows that have been presented there.

Andrée Bilodeau and Frédéric Lebrasseur, who played in the reading 25 years ago, form the core of the quartet, to which are added Lyne Goulet and Olivier Bacon, who have joined LIMQ over the years.

Ligue d’improvisation musicale de Québec

The Ligue d’improvisation musicale de Québec was born to create musical improvisation shows. It has adapted the famous LNI improvisation match concept into music.
